The checklist outlines a model for thinking about coproduction, starting with asking the question ‘Why do you want to work with lay people?’

It then offers six aspects of work that could be coproduced: definition of the work, design, delivery, decision-making, distribution and evaluation. Insert model

Not all aspects of a piece of work will be coproduced. You can decide to use one aspect of the checklist or all, having been through the ‘why involve’ section first.

As you go through each section you will be prompted to answer questions, think about what you want to do, check-out good practice examples and to fill in a template so that you create a record of your thinking and activity. This will help you describe your invovlement activities and help to decide what impact involving lay people has had.
